Day 12: Meal Prepping

Meal prepping can be fun but challenging at the same time. Without giving yourself the proper amount of time to plan and commit to it, it will not last long.

Depending on the number of meals you are making, it may be easier to divide the prep days into two separate days. Dividing the process into two days cuts back the time needed meal-prepto prep the meals and will preserve the quality of the food. Making Thursday’s meal on Sunday could result in funny smelling meals come Thursday. Find two days that work best with your schedule to meal prep.

Create guidelines! Figure out the number of meals and number of days you will be preparing for all at once. You may wish to prep lunch and dinner or just one so this needs to be determined ahead of time. If you count your macros, plan this ahead of time to determine how much of each macro you need each particular day. Creating guidelines ahead of time makes the shopping and the prepping easier.

When prepping focusing on the easy to cook foods. Mix in a different proteins, carbohydrates, and healthy fats. Experimenting with the different options will help you decide what works best for you.

Meal prepping should be done based off your individual preferences and needs. Make it easier for yourself and make it unique to you. It can be an enjoyable experience that makes your life much easier if you dedicate yourself and stay committed to it.
